What: NOM^3
When: March 2010

Why: Described as “a food truck and a food revolution” and named after the popular nom-nom-nom meme, NOM^3 is — you guessed it — a food truck based in Columbia University. Unlike most options in the Morningside Heights neighborhood, NOM^3 is entirely student-run and environmentally friendly (they run on biodiesel fuel!). All the menu items are seasonal, organic, healthy, and student-picked.

That said, I wanted to create a fun, punchy design that would emphasis both the “green” and the no-frills aspect of NOM^3. I used wood and soil textures for the backgrounds and stuck to a green-orange color scheme. Because NOM^3 is a big proponent of social media, I set up a WordPress-run blog and installed plugins that would integrate their tweets, Flickr photos, etc.
