What: Columbia University Engineers Without Borders (cuewb.org)
When: January 2009 – present
How: WordPress
Why: The Columbia University chapter of Engineers Without Borders is dedicated to development projects in India, Ghana, and Uganda. However, one of the problems of having such a large chapter is that information about these projects can easily get lost. The chapter needed a place online to store information about their projects, as well as a place to post updates. Furthermore, they needed a content management system that would make updating the website a piece of cake.

With that, I installed WordPress and created a streamlined but updated layout. The homepage contained the latest chapter-wide updates as well as blurbs about each of the programs. Because the chapter does some extensive traveling, I integrated the chapter’s Flickr uploads with the site’s Media section. The website also contains a calendar, a contact form, and several informational pages, all of which are easily navigable.
