Food Comatose!

Sometimes happiness is going on a Ferris wheel ride, walking along the quay side, eating my way to a food coma, window-shopping, and taking photos of all of the above.
And so describes my first 12 hours in Singapore. Warm weather (compared to the usual slosh in NY) and so much good food to pick? I’m pretty much set for the next two days!
Because I’m one of those weird people that prefers to eat dessert first, this photo goes before all other food photos, hah! This was apple gelato with a hand-painted white chocolate coating made to look like an apple. The best part was definitely the chocolate “core” in the middle, hands down.

Beautiful pictures!
And ohhhhh man. That apple gelato looks delicious! I thought it was a strange apple at first.
But I have a question… was the gelato apple flavored (that seems odd) or just shaped lik ean apple?

Both! I had never had apple-flavored gelato before, but it was actually pretty good!

Oh my god, all that food looks so good. I was going to say how amazing the apple gelato looked, but then I realised that EVERYTHING looks amazing!
Singapore looks so neat. Those pictures are awesome.

I think these are the first pictures of Singapore I’ve ever *really* seen, but it looks cool!
The food looks delicious, too.

Wow, Singapore looks so modern and spiffy! And the food looks fantastic! That apple gelato looks to die for.
Good news for me because I am moving to Singapore for a full-time job when I graduate university (I have one more semester), and I’m also a huge foodie. I can’t wait!
So, how are you recovering from your food hangover?

You’re moving to Singapore? That’s awesome! The food options are practically limitless and affordable, so I say it’s definitely up your alley.
As for my own food coma, I’m recovering nicely thanks to a much-needed nap!

The strawberries look delicious, too.

I’m like you and like to have my dessert first, despite what every one says about dessert spoiling my appetite — I figure if I have it last, I’d still be saving myself for the dessert.
I love dessert, can’t you tell.
The gelato is so sculptural, it seems almost criminal to break into it!

That apple is the coolest! Was the leaf edible? It’s pretty hot here right now, and I could really go for one of those, haha.

Unfortunately, the leaf wasn’t edible, but everything else was, haha!

Great pictures. What is the soup like dish called? It looks delicious. Hmm… Since when am I more interested in meals than in desserts?

The dish is called mee rebus; it’s egg noodles in a sweet/spicy sauce, with bean sprouts, chillies, and lime. It was amazingly good!

The 3rd to last picture looks sooo scrumptious!

I love the apple and how they made it look like the skin has been partially peeled off. I wish I had patience to craft food together like that.
What are the two dishes in the other pictures called & what’s in them?

I agree; I wish I could make such culinary beauties myself!
Mee rebus (the noodles in the bowl) is made of egg noodles, bean sprouts, lime, chillies, and a spicy/sweet sauce. Mee siam (the thin noodles on the dish) is made of thin noodles in a sweet and sour sauce, with egg, chili, lime, and bean sprouts. Both tasted SO good, though I think I might like the mee rebus better.
