I currently live in London. I can really recommend some of the free museums – namely the British Museum (which features collections from all over the world including real life Egyptian mummies!), Science Museum and Natural History Museum, but I’m a sucker for the London Transport Museum (which has an entry fee). The Imperial War Museum is pretty good, too, if you’re that kind of girl (they have a great Holocaust exhibition) but it’s a bit out of the way.

Covent Garden is great for a nice dinner (it’s quite a hip and happening area), Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus are great for high street shopping (Regent St is particularly expensive) but Camden is amazing for alternative clothing and ‘little known’ bits and bobs – they also have huge numbers of ethnic food stalls.

Taking a stroll along the embankment is always nice – amazing views of the houses of parliament, London Eye, etc. etc. It is especially beautiful at night when all the buildings are lit up.

Bring an umbrella, though. Chances are the weather will turn shit on you at some point.

Ahh.. web site redesigning is always a fun and enjoyable thing to do for me. A pity I don’t have the time. I’m busy with the huge family gathering we are having today, food… food… and more food…

I have already added Platform 9 and 3/4 to my list.
haha, on my trip to england in 2004, my family only had one afternoon/evening to spend in London and I seriously dragged my poor, tired family all the way to Kings Cross Station so I could satiate my fangirl dreams. it was so worth it. if I go back someday, I think i’d like to ride on the london eye. and I didn’t get to see big ben or any museums. alas!

also, kayaking class?! jealousssssss.
